Adidas is one of the most popular and well known brands in the world. Their marketing campaigns receive wide acclaim from both marketing and non marketing professionals and result in a brand exposure that is the envy of all other sports and clothing brands.

Most recently they have taken advantage of the popularity of The Ting Tings. Adidas staged a free gig in Manchester, UK, in an all white venue and handed it out paint guns, bottles and marker pens. The crowd and ban were then encouraged to be creative and soak the venue and themselves in paint. This level of customer engagement can only be described as remarkable.

Another big commercial that Adidas released featured a host of sporting super stars and musicians attending a house party, all clad in Adidas Originals clothing. Some of the biggest stars in the world were at the house party including Run DMC, Missy Elliot, Katy Perry and even David Beckham, all seen with Adidas Originals clothing.

However the most prevalent aspect of the Adidas marketing campaigns is the brand’s long and successful relationship with their biggest star – David Beckham. Beckham is one of the very, very few stars that have made it big in both the UK and the US. With his good looks and natural style, Beckham has managed to take his sporting ability and fame to dizzying heights and Adidas have benefited massively from their sponsorship deal.

Their relationship came to a new height recently when the brand created a personalised logo of the stars most famous asset – his signature free kick. Their relationship has lasted more than a decade and has been beneficial to both parties. Adidas provide all the equipment and kits for Beckham’s sporting ventures such as the David Beckham Football Academy, exposing their brand to the future football stars and world renowned football coaches.
